Great American Backyard Campout

Looking for something fun (and frugal) to do next Saturday night?  Pledge to camp out for wildlife!

June 28 is the Great American Backyard Campout!

What you do:

- procure a tent

- sign the National Wildlife Federation pledge

- get excited--whether you will backyard camp with your children, friends, spouse, group, grandchildren, or pets, the backyard campout is an excellent opportunity to make some mindful fun

- get ready--with the help of the NWF's camping tips, recipes, songs, stories, games, and activities

(- check the weather)

- camp out in your backyard

How it works:

According to the website, the "National Wildlife Federation's Board of Directors and other friends have offered to donate $2 in support of NWF's wildlife conservation work for every person that participates in this year’s Campout— up to $400,000!"

Not only is this annual event meant to help raise money and awareness, it encourages kids to get outside and enjoy nature.  Everyone, even those without children or grandchildren, can and should participate.

The NWF also suggests you share your Great American Backyard Campout experience using the hashtag #campie (a selfie taken while camping out).

Make s'more memories with your friends and family next Saturday with the Great American Backyard Campout!
